Project: Environmental Impact Assessments: Natural Heritage Features
Client: Private Landowners
Geofirma was retained by several private landowners to conduct Environmental Impact Assessments in support of land severance applications for the creation of multiple residential estate lots in Eastern Ontario. Geofirma biologists conducted site investigations to identify and assess potential impacts to natural heritage features including; fish habitat, significant woodlands, significant valleylands and the potential species at risk habitat. Following strict adherence to Provincial Policy Statements and regional planning documents Geofirma staff worked with Municipal Planners and Conservation Authority staff to develop site specific mitigation measures including development setbacks and construction buffer zones to protect natural heritage features while also permitting the desired residential development.
