Lauren Madronich is a structural geologist working on Geofirma’s nuclear waste disposal, carbon sequestration, and energy storage projects. She has an Honours Bachelor degree in Earth and Environmental Science from McMaster University and a Master of Science from the University of Calgary, where she specialized in structural geology and tectonics. With over 10 years of geoscience experience working in both public and private sectors, Lauren has pursued her passion for cross-disciplinary learning through her involvement in mapping and drilling projects across North America in both sedimentary basins and mineralized belts. These experiences have refined her knowledge base in sedimentology, volcanism, geochemistry, geomechanics, fracture systems, and hydrogeology and she has applied this knowledge base to building basin- and continent-scale tectonic models and well as detailed site-specific models. She continues to put her diverse geoscience skillset to use with Geofirma’s site characterization projects and is a critical member of the field team, leading our rock core logging and sampling programs, and writing technical reports. She is a registered Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) in Ontario and Alberta.
