Lauren Madronich is a structural geologist working on Geofirma’s nuclear waste disposal and geological carbon storage projects. She has an Honours Bachelor degree in Earth and Environmental Science from McMaster University and a Master of Science from the University of Calgary, where she specialized in structural geology and tectonics. With 10 years of geoscience experience working in both public and private sectors, Lauren has pursued her passion for cross-disciplinary learning through her involvement in mapping and drilling projects across North America in both sedimentary basins and mineralized belts. These experiences have refined her knowledge base in sedimentology, geochemistry, geomechanics, fracture systems, hydrogeology, and volcanism and she has applied this knowledge base to building both basin- and continent-scale tectonic models. She continues to put her diverse geoscience skillset to use with Geofirma’s site characterization projects and is a critical member of the field team, leading our rock core logging and sampling programs. She is a registered Geoscientist-in-Training currently on track to obtain her Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) designation this year.
