The Ontario Oil, Gas, and Salt Resources Library has posted Robert Walsh’s presentation from last year’s Energy Prospectors Expo (EPEX 2019) on their YouTube channel. The talk, entitled Embracing Uncertainty in Numerical Models can be viewed here. The presentation describes approaches that we have been developing to address the perennial challenge in models of earth systems: how do we handle sparse and uncertain data sets while producing a model that permits confident and informed decision making? One solution is to quantify and present that uncertainty.
